ITALIA DORATA (aka "Dory") entered the world on June 4, just the elegant, feminine, and precocious golden filly we had been planning, hoping, and waiting for!
A daughter of the Thoroughbred stallion Guaranteed Gold xx, Dory is the first foal of her dam Itanika and the first grandchild of our mare Itamignon. Dory is named to honor her mare family, a well respected line descended from the "Trek" mare Italia 54. "Dorata" means "Golden," and Dory is the first "Golden Italia" filly!
Beautifully colored with a large star, Dory is captivating with her large eyes and girly face. She has a strong topline with large hindquarters and lovely angles. Her movement is big and balanced, and already she is showing the multi-disciplinary athleticism of our "I" descendants, popping over anything in her path!
Earning yet another nickname, "Dora the Explorer" was bold and inquisitive, marching away from mama and resisting Itanika's constant motherly grooming. You could almost hear her saying "Yuck! Mom-spit!"
Dory is a fantastic choice for a Trakehner breeder interested in adding color to their program. She is available for a breeding lease for the 2013 season. She is also available for purchase. $8,000.
