1988 Bay Trakehner stallion"Large framed, strong Pasteur-grandson of the best breed type with a beautiful head and neck; large sloping shoulder with good withers blending smoothly into a slightly long back and a performance-promising croup. Foundation is strong and correct. Three good basic gaits.As a 4 year old Guy Laroche achieved many wins in Materiale and Dressage suitability. Winning Riding Horse championships, dressage and showjumping competitions, he was the best Trakehner stallion at the Trakehner Federal Show in 1993 and qualified for the German National Championships. He was member of the winning family group of his dam, Galante, at the Rhineland State Championships at Aachen in 1996. He was trained by Olympic and World Champion Uwe Sauer up to FEI level dressage. In 2001 he won several showjumping competitions under a junior rider with limited experience. He was a member of the pas de quatre at the Saxonia/Thuringia State Stud Moritzburg stallion parade in 2001, and in 2003 was the "cover horse" for the State Stud's directory. He is featured on his own page in "Selected Stallions of Germany," 2002.
"His first foal crop is stamped by remarkably large-framed, outgoing, and agile get. They are usually recognized as children of their father by their nobility, conformation, and presence. Guy Laroche sires foals with excellent neck sets. Some are base-wide in front and occasionally have straighter angles in the hind leg. The movement is forward, in noble self-carriage, and with good reach and high regularity, almost always an improvement on the mothers'. Only when crossed with certain mares are the backs slightly long."

He is also the dam's sire of the 2000 Verband Champion Mare, LANTANA. His influence reaches beyond the Trakehner breed, due in part to the five years he stood for breeding in Holland.

Significant breeding stallion type of high quality."Due to an injury received in importation, he started his competition career late. He was competed through Intermediare I and evented through Preliminary, and schooled in all the FEI movements. Unfortunately, complications arising from his earlier injury forced his early retirement. He was recognized in the 2000 book Trakehner Hengstregister as one of the limited list of stallions who have been successful in sport, acknowledging his successful dressage career through "S" Level. Standing at Gay McCall's Dancing Fields Farm in California, Kaspareit became one of the most popular Trakehner stallions in North America.

Good large frame, strong skeleton, voluptuous muscles; excellent way of going in all paces."Mozart stood at Gestüt Hämelschenburg in Hameln from 1976 through 1979. He was sold to Holland in 1980, where he was accepted as an improvement sire within the Dutch Warmblood and became Dutch champion three times. In 1985 was imported to the United States. He sired 4 graded sons and 57 studbook daughters in Germany, including the Elite Mare SCHWALBENBURG, and many quality horses throughout Europe and in North America. Mozart died in 1997 while breeding a mare.

One of the most important stallions of the last 40 years, both in terms of the number of his registered descendents and in the quality he produces. His approved sons are different and, especially when out of mare families with low rideability, their riding quality can be less than desired. Otherwise his children are true to type, harmonious and correct in their conformation and often have extremely swinging, elastic movement. Occasionally they have less size and substance than would be expected. Matador enjoys an outstanding reputation as a riding horse sire."Matador had nine approved sons including TIPPERARY, PASCAL, MONSUN, RHEINGOLD, KRONJUWEL, HORATIO, and MAESTRO, and 143 studbook daughters.

A stallion which possesses all of the characteristics of a first-class, versatile riding horse.In 1975 Donauwind was exported to Denmark, then returned to Germany in 1980 and sold to Canada in 1981. From 1982 until his death in 1986 Donauwind stood in the U.S. Donauwind's impact on the breed is difficult to summarize, as he left 16 approved sons in Europe (inlcuding LIBERIUS, TANNENSEE, BLITZWIND, and UNKENRUF) and 125 daughters. Probably the most famous of his children is the Olympic Gold Medallist ABDULLAH.

1960 Dark Bay Trakehner stallion"Good character, balanced temperament, hard constitution. Responds to all ridden cues very willingly, easily and comfortably. Walk sufficiently good, trot good with extension. A stallion with much expression and dryness. Expressive face, good neck; much shoulder; in all quite compact. The front legs could be somewhat sturdier, formation of the hocks is satisfactory. The stallion goes somewhat wide behind, the hooves somewhat close together; way of going is very swinging, although not quite correct.He died in 1984, leaving 13 approved stallion sons and 98 studbook daughters, including the Elite Mare JENNY.
Almost all get are marked by energetic, swinging movement, and usually also by beautiful heads with good overall expression. If the mare is coarse in some respects, the children also are somewhat. Gunnar produced good breeding horses as well as good riding horses. Overall, he is considered a valuable element for Trakehner breeding."

Total result: very good.Ibikus was sold to Denmark in 1976, then returned to Germany where he stood from 1977 through 1983. He returned to Denmark in 1983, and died in 1996. He sired 12 approved sons in Germany and 106 studbook daughters, including the Verband Elite Mares GO-DA, GONDOLA, KLEOPATRA, and SCHWALBENBURG; he also made an impression in Denmark, where he sired, among others, an approved stallion as well as the dam of the Danish Champion stallion RAMBO.
Based on pedigree, conformation, and movement, he is a top-notch stallion of significant frame and good caliber with very expansive, fluid movement. He has obtained numerous tournament successes under his owner [O. Langels], as well as several riding horse Championships."

Rondo delivers hard, dry horses of pleasing type. The movement could often show more authority. His get are sometimes light in their foundations. The stallion has produced some excellent sport horses for all disciplines."
